Maureen Linker Bio
Maureen Linker is Associate Provost and Professor of Philosophy at the University of
Michigan-Dearborn. She received her Ph.D. in philosophy in from the City University of New York, Graduate Center. Her book Intellectual Empathy: Critical Thinking for Social Justice, was published by University of Michigan Press in 2015. She has also published in a wide variety of academic and professional journals including The Criminal Law Quarterly, Perspectives in Multicultural Education, and Social Theory and Practice. In addition to writing and classroom teaching, Maureen has led workshops on Diversity Fatigue, Navigating Difficult Dialogues, Finding Common Ground through Intellectual Empathy, and Managing Cultural Competency, for a variety of professional organizations, community and religious groups, as well as educational conferences. Maureen is currently leading the “More Than A Single Story: UM-Dearborn Speaks” digital storytelling project funded by a CTE seed grant and the Office of the Chancellor at UM-Dearborn
