The Coalition for Transformational Education is a group of leaders in higher education dedicated to evidence-based, learner-centered education that lays the foundation for wellbeing and work engagement throughout life. Our Guiding Principles
Rationale
Research shows a correlation between certain experiences in college and wellbeing and work engagement throughout life, including emotionally supportive mentoring and experiential learning opportunities, where students connect curriculum and classroom experiences to real-world problem solving. There is robust evidence linking experiences like mentoring and experiential learning to the development of a sense of identity, belonging, agency and purpose. We believe these factors are the critical elements to transformational education that leads to lifelong wellbeing.

Our History
In response to research linking higher education experiences to lifelong wellbeing, a diverse coalition of colleges and universities have come together to take on the grand challenge question of: If the impact of the experiences is so profound, don’t we have a moral obligation to ensure that they are made available to every student?
