Wake Forest’s approach to leadership and character is distinct in several ways: It focuses on both skills and character; It combines character and community; It focuses not only on heroic leaders, but also on everyday leaders; The program is based in rigorous academic research; It is inclusive and pluralistic; it is radically collaborative; and they draw lessons of leadership from the liberal arts.
Understanding the Impact of COVID-19 on Undergraduate Students’ Wellbeing
In the aftermath of the COVID-19 Wake Forest uses statistical modeling of data from three Wellbeing Assessment administrations to evaluate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on undergraduate students’ wellbeing with a focus on the impact of identity, agency, and purpose. The models include supportive faculty relationships and a range of demographic and contextual variables. This addition to the extant knowledge base aims to help wellbeing practitioners develop effective and efficient programs, policies, and practices.
The Program for Leadership and Character
Over the last decade, Wake Forest faculty have become leading experts in the study of character. The Program for Leadership and Character is now using this groundbreaking research to develop creative, liberal arts-based programming to transform the lives of students.
